Beiersdorf Sales Fall 4.6 Percent on Luxury Disruptions
Beiersdorf reported first-quarter revenue of 2.48 billion euros amid soft Nivea growth. Disruptions in China and the US impacted its luxury La Prairie brand.
The consumer goods group BEIERSDORF AG, headquartered in Germany, reported a decline in its quarterly sales figures on Tuesday. The manufacturer of Nivea products saw its first-quarter organic revenue fall by 4.6%, totaling 2.48 billion euros ($2.92 billion). This figure represents a decrease from the 2.69 billion euros generated in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Several factors contributed to the sales slump, most notably soft growth within the flagship Nivea brand. Furthermore, the company's luxury label, La Prairie, encountered significant hurdles. These included disruptions in the travel retail market in China and challenges within department store channels in the United States. The results reflect a broader impact of market-specific disruptions on the group's global operations.
