Shares of Atlas Arteria surged more than 13% on Monday, marking the company's strongest performance since June 2022. The rally followed a $4.9 billion buyout proposal from IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, which aims to take full control of the road operator. The fund, operating through its investment vehicle Diamond Infraco 1, offered A$4.75 per share, representing a 9.7% premium over the previous closing price.

Based in Australia, Atlas Arteria saw its stock price climb to A$4.91, even as the broader benchmark index finished the day 0.5% lower. The bidding entity currently maintains a 34.48% stake in the firm and noted that regulatory limits necessitate a formal takeover offer to increase its holding further.
