The economy of Argentina expanded by 4.4% throughout 2025, according to data released on Friday by the national statistics agency, INDEC. The final growth figure landed slightly below the 4.45% expansion previously anticipated by market analysts. In the final three months of the year, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. This quarterly performance was marginally lower than the 2.2% growth projected by economists and represented a slowdown from the 2.6% expansion recorded during the same period the previous year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the economy saw a 0.6% increase relative to the third quarter of 2025.

The current data highlights a sustained recovery for Latin America's third-largest economy, marking the second consecutive quarter of quarter-on-quarter growth and the fifth consecutive period of year-on-year expansion. This positive trajectory follows a difficult 2024, during which the annual GDP contracted by 1.3%. Sector-specific data indicates that the primary drivers of growth in 2025 were agriculture and farming, mining and quarrying, and financial services. In contrast, several sectors experienced declines in output, including public administration, social and healthcare services, domestic sectors, and fishing.
