AlzeCure and Lilly sign billion-dollar Alzheimer drug deal
AlzeCure signed a deal with Eli Lilly for its Alzheimer drug Alzstatin ACD680. The agreement includes an upfront payment and could reach 1 billion dollars.
ALZECURE PHARMA AB entered a $1 billion global licensing agreement with ELI LILLY & CO for its preclinical Alzheimer’s drug, Alzstatin ACD680. This deal grants Lilly global rights to the candidate in exchange for a $10 million upfront payment and future milestones. The partnership leverages Lilly's commercial scale to advance AlzeCure's small-molecule strategy for preventing harmful amyloid buildup in the brain.
AlzeCure develops small-molecule candidates for central nervous system diseases with a focus on Alzheimer’s and pain. Alzstatin ACD680 is currently in preclinical development. CEO Martin Jönsson said the compounds aim to counteract the re-accumulation of harmful amyloid in the brain.
