Alstom profit holds steady despite train delivery delays
The French train maker reported a full-year adjusted operating profit of 1.17 billion euros as execution issues on major contracts weighed on performance. Management ruled out a capital increase while focusing on improving project discipline to stabilize cash flow and meet credit metrics by 2027.
ALSTOM reported flat full-year adjusted EBIT of 1.17 billion euros ($1.37 billion) as delivery delays on large contracts offset strong order intake. The France-based train maker maintained a 6.1% margin, matching the previous year. Investors are focused on cash flow stability after Alstom issued two major liquidity warnings since late 2023.
CEO Martin Sion said that the priority is improving execution quality through tighter project management. Alstom is reinforcing planning discipline and coordination across its engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing divisions.
