Lebanon is facing a severe food security crisis as the conflict involving Iran disrupts the supply of essential goods, the World Food Programme (WFP) announced on Friday. A fragile two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iranian forces is under increasing pressure, with both sides scheduled to meet for negotiations in Pakistan tomorrow. Washington has accused Tehran of violating agreements in the Strait of Hormuz, while Israel has conducted strikes in Lebanese territory that Iranian officials claim are a breach of the truce.
"What we’re witnessing is not just a displacement crisis, it is rapidly becoming a food security crisis."
