The World Bank is actively engaging with Mozambique to navigate a period of intense fiscal pressure as the nation’s borrowing costs climb. A recent Debt Sustainability Analysis conducted alongside the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has labeled the country's current debt levels as unsustainable, prompting a search for comprehensive solutions to stabilize the economy.
"The government is very well aware of this and working very closely to see how we can help them address some of these imbalances, looking at all options," stated Fily Sissoko, the World Bank’s regional director for the nation.
