The World Health Organization (WHO) declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern after 80 deaths. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain, has spread across three health zones in Ituri province. WHO warned of a high risk for further transmission to neighboring countries sharing land borders with the DRC.
