A poll of six analysts by Reuters estimated that crude inventories in the US crude inventory system rose by approximately 1.7 million barrels in the week ending January 16, 2026. The release of official data from the American Petroleum Institute is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST (2130 GMT) on Wednesday, January 21, while the Energy Information Administration is set to release its report at 12 p.m. EST (1700 GMT) on Thursday, January 22. Both reports were delayed by one day due to a federal holiday in the USon Monday, January 20.
