Walmart adds Subway meals to 30-minute delivery service
Walmart is expanding its fast-delivery service to include meals from Subway as the retailer intensifies its e-commerce competition with Amazon. The company plans to offer 30-minute delivery from approximately 1,400 Subway locations within its stores by late summer to meet growing consumer demand for convenience.
Walmart will add Subway meals to its 30-minute delivery service, expanding the offering to 1,400 stores by late summer. The move leverages Subway's position as the retailer's largest in-store restaurant tenant in the United States. Expanding rapid fulfillment targets affluent consumers who prioritize convenience over traditional low-price shopping.
Walmart Executive Vice President Tracy Poulliot said on Thursday afternoon that the initiative aims to enable express delivery for all in-store tenants. The service is already active in several states.
