Visa acquires Prisma and Newpay to expand digital payment services in Argentina

Visa has reached an agreement to acquire payment platforms Prisma and Newpay. The deal aims to modernize financial services and digital payments in Argentina.

Visa Inc. announced today, February 19, 2026, that it will acquire the Argentine payment platforms Prisma and Newpay from the private-equity firm Advent International. This transaction is intended to bolster Visa’s presence in Argentina ARAR and to accelerate the adoption of digital payment technologies and modernize financial services and payments infrastructure across the country. The deal is currently expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 (Q1 2026).
