Vietjet to receive first A330neo for Europe flights
The Vietnamese budget carrier plans to launch direct routes to Europe following the arrival of new wide-body aircraft. The airline also aims to develop Ho Chi Minh City into a regional aviation finance hub.
Vietnam budget carrier Vietjet Air is set to receive its first delivery of the A330neo wide-body aircraft this year, marking a significant step in the airline's strategy to expand its footprint into the European market. The delivery stems from an order for 20 aircraft placed last year with AIRBUS SE during a high-profile visit to the Southeast Asian nation by the President of France.
Philipp Rosler, a board member for the airline, confirmed that the carrier is actively scouting several potential destinations for direct long-haul flights. Key markets under consideration include the Czech Republic, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. The exact timing for the launch of these routes remains contingent on the delivery schedule managed by the European manufacturer.
