Venture Global and Hanwha Sign 20-Year LNG Supply Deal
Venture Global signed a 20-year deal to supply 1.5 million tons of LNG annually to Hanwha Aerospace from 2030. This brings its total portfolio past 46 million tons.
The United States-based energy provider Venture Global, Inc. has finalized a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace Co., Ltd.. Under the terms of the deal, the American firm will supply 1.5 million metric tons per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) starting in 2030. This new contract increases the total long-term contracted portfolio for the company to over 46 million tons per annum. Venture Global, Inc. remains the second-largest exporter of LNG in the United States, which is currently the top global exporter of the fuel. The agreement with the South Korean aerospace and defense giant follows another significant deal established in late November. In that instance, the company signed a 20-year supply contract with Japan's primary city gas provider, Tokyo Gas Co.,Ltd., for 1 million mtpa of LNG, also slated to begin in 2030.
