S&P 500 and Nasdaq Track Best Monthly Gains Since 2020
US indexes are set for their best month since 2020 as strong earnings offset oil supply risks. Alphabet and Eli Lilly gains supported the market on Thursday.
The S&P 500 and NASDAQ INC are on pace to finish April with their largest monthly gains since 2020. Resilient corporate earnings have offset a historic oil supply shock and geopolitical tensions in the United States. Investors are prioritizing profit growth over war-driven costs, though high energy prices threaten to squeeze household budgets and future margins.
The S&P 500 is tracking toward its strongest monthly performance since November 2020. The Nasdaq is recording its best month since April 2020, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average is heading for its best month since November 2024.
