The United States is actively seeking alternative sources of fertilizer to mitigate supply chain disruptions caused by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett announced on Tuesday that the administration is looking toward Venezuela and potentially Morocco to secure essential agricultural inputs and protect domestic farmers from market volatility.
Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Hassett detailed the administration's efforts to diversify supply lines as an insurance policy against further shortages.
