US allows Russian crude oil tanker to reach Cuba today
The United States is allowing a Russian tanker to reach Cuba today to ease a de facto oil blockade. This shipment provides relief to a severe energy crisis.
The United States has reportedly allowed a Russia-flagged tanker carrying crude oil to reach Cuba, signaling a potential easing of the energy blockade Washington has maintained to pressure the government in Havana. The decision follows a temporary lifting of certain sanctions on Moscow to stabilize global oil flows, which have been restricted by recent military strikes involving Israel and Iran.
Ship-monitoring data confirms that the sanctioned vessel, the Anatoly Kolodkin, departed from the Primorsk port with a cargo estimated between 650,000 and 730,000 barrels of crude oil. This shipment is expected to provide significant relief to the Caribbean nation, which has been struggling with a paralyzing energy crisis and frequent power outages.
