US implements new ten percent global tariff following Supreme Court ruling
The US began collecting a ten percent tariff on Tuesday following a court ruling. Officials applied the lower rate despite earlier threats of a higher hike.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection began collecting an additional ad valorem tariff of 10% at midnight on February 24, 2026, on all imported goods into the US
US that are not covered by specific exemptions. This action follows the implementation of the February 20, 2026 Presidential Proclamation, which utilizes the Section 122 law to re-establish broad import duties. Simultaneously, the agency has halted the collection of previous tariffs that were recently annulled by the Supreme Court.
