The United States has increased the cost estimate for its Golden Dome missile defense shield to $185 billion, a $10 billion rise aimed at accelerating the deployment of critical space-based tracking capabilities. During the McAleese Defense Programs Conference in Arlington, Virginia, program director and Space Force General Michael Guetlein announced that Lockheed Martin Corporation, RTX Corporation, and Northrop Grumman Corporation have officially joined the initiative as prime contractors.
