US consumer price growth slows in January as inflation pressures ease
US consumer prices rose less than expected in January as annual inflation cooled to 2.4 percent. Stable labor data may allow the Fed to keep rates unchanged.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on February 13, 2026, that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the US
US rose 0.2% in January. This headline figure was below economists' expectations for the month. Meanwhile, core CPI, which excludes the often-volatile food and energy sectors, saw an increase of 0.3%.
