US and India Trade Ministers Discuss Economic Partnership
Piyush Goyal and Howard Lutnick discussed trade in New Delhi today. The meeting follows the invalidation of broad U.S. tariffs and signals a push for a deal.
Trade Minister Piyush Goyal of India met with United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the future of the economic partnership between the two nations. The meeting follows a significant shift in the trade landscape after President Donald Trump's sweeping global tariffs were invalidated by a Supreme Court order earlier this week.
Lutnick, who is currently on a personal visit to the country, engaged in what officials described as a highly productive dialogue. Sergio Gor, the U.S. envoy to India, shared his optimism regarding the bilateral relationship following the meeting.
