Universal Music Group Shelves US Listing Plans Today
Universal Music Group shelved US listing plans today citing market uncertainty. The label reported 2025 revenue of 12.5 billion euros, an 8.7 percent rise.
UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP NV, the world's preeminent music label, has officially shelved its plans for a stock market listing in the United_States. The decision, announced on Thursday, comes as the company navigates a period of significant market uncertainty that has impacted global financial sentiment.

Despite the pause in its listing strategy, the music giant reported strong financial performance for the 2025 fiscal year. Universal Music Group achieved a full-year revenue of 12.5 billion euros, which translates to roughly $14.5 billion. This performance marks an 8.7% increase year-on-year when calculated at constant currency rates, reflecting continued growth in the global music industry.
The company's withdrawal from the American market listing reflects a broader trend of corporate caution amid volatile trading conditions. While the label remains a dominant force in the entertainment sector, leadership has prioritized stability over immediate expansion into new exchange territories.
