USpopulation increased by 1.8 million people to reach a total of 341.8 million residents in the year ending June 2025, according to new data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. This 0.5% growth rate represents the slowest pace of expansion for the country since the COVID-19 pandemic. Demographers noted that while births and deaths remained relatively stable compared to the prior year, the sharp decline in net international migration is the main reason for the slower growth rate. Global net international migration fell to 1.3 million from 2.7 million during this same 12-month period.
