Consumer sentiment in the United Kingdom has plummeted to its lowest level since late 2023, as escalating geopolitical tensions and rising fuel costs weigh heavily on household outlooks. According to the latest GfK consumer confidence index, morale dropped to -25 in April from -21 in March, matching economist expectations but marking the weakest reading since the country emerged from a short recession last year.
