The United Kingdom public finances showed renewed signs of strain this February as government borrowing significantly overshot expectations. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), public sector net borrowing reached 14.3 billion pounds ($19.17 billion) for the month, far exceeding the median forecast of 8.5 billion pounds previously estimated by economists.
