TRENT LTD has reported a 26% increase in consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter ending March 31, reaching 4 billion rupees compared to 3.18 billion rupees in the previous year. The retail powerhouse, part of the Tata Group, attributed the growth to a recovery in consumer demand across India following significant consumption tax cuts implemented in late 2025. Alongside the earnings report, the board approved a maiden bonus share issue and a fund-raising plan of up to 25 billion rupees.

The company’s aggressive expansion strategy remains a primary driver of its financial performance. The total store count surged to 1,286 by the end of the fiscal year, up from 1,043 a year prior. Much of this growth is fueled by the Zudio brand, which targets Gen-Z consumers with affordable trendwear. Standalone revenue for the quarter rose by 20%, marking a recovery from slower growth periods earlier in the fiscal year. Despite the volume growth, like-for-like growth in the fashion portfolio remained in the low single digits, while gross margins at the Westside and Zudio brands remained stable.
