The offer from Fertitta Entertainment reportedly topped a previous bid from the firm of billionaire investor Carl Icahn. The deal discussions involve a price of roughly $34 per share for the casino operator. Following the report, shares of Caesars Entertainment climbed 12% in afternoon trading. While the negotiations are exclusive, sources noted that a final agreement is not guaranteed and talks could still fall through. Caesars Entertainment has not yet commented on the matter. The potential acquisition would mark a major expansion for Fertitta's gaming and hospitality empire.
