A Thai oil tanker has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz following high-level diplomatic talks between Thailand and Iran. The vessel, owned by the Bangchak Corporation, crossed the strategic waterway on Monday without being required to pay for passage, according to government officials and the oil major.
The breakthrough followed coordination between Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow and the Iranian ambassador to Thailand. The minister sought assurances for the safety of Thai-flagged vessels amid heightened regional tensions.
