Thailand exports rose 23.1% in April, driven by electronics and automobile demand from the United States and China. The growth beat the 17.3% Reuters poll forecast and marked the 22nd consecutive month of expansion. Strong AI-driven demand supports a 3% annual growth forecast despite a record $10 billion trade deficit.
Nantapong Chiralerspong, head of the Trade Policy and Strategy Office, said at a Monday morning briefing that exports will expand through June. AI-driven demand remains a primary catalyst for shipments.
