Tesla China made EV sales rise 91 percent in February
Tesla sold 58,600 China-made vehicles in February, a 91% year-on-year rise. The growth follows a low 2025 base when production paused for the Lunar New Year.
The sales of China-made electric vehicles from Tesla, Inc. climbed for the fourth month in a row in February. The United States-based manufacturer reported that sales of its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, which include exports to international markets such as Europe, reached 58,600 units last month. This total marks a 91% increase from the previous year, following a 9.3% rise recorded in January. Despite the strong year-over-year gains, sales saw a 15.2% decrease when compared to January's figures. The performance in February 2025 was partially hindered by a temporary suspension of assembly lines for the refreshed Model Y during the Lunar New Year period. Market analysts observe that sales data for the first two months of the year are typically subject to significant fluctuations. These variations are largely attributed to the changing dates of the Lunar New Year, which impacts production and consumer behavior across the region.
