In a letter addressed to European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, leaders from Poland, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, and Slovakia argued that maintaining these allowances is essential for economic stability. The coalition is specifically calling for a thorough review of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to mitigate its impact on electricity prices and reduce market volatility.
