Telecom Italia names advisers for Poste Italiane bid

Telecom Italia (TIM) has selected Goldman Sachs and EVERCORE INC - A to serve as financial advisers during the review of a privatization proposal from POSTE ITALIANE SPA. The state-backed conglomerate has reportedly submitted a cash-and-share offer to take the phone group private, a move that could significantly alter the corporate landscape in Italy. According to sources familiar with the matter, the appointed advisers will evaluate the merits of the bid. Telecom Italia has declined to comment on the advisory appointments, while Goldman Sachs and Evercore were not immediately available for response.
