Tata Communications Revenue Grows on Data Demand
The company reported quarterly revenue of 65.54 billion rupees driven by cloud and bandwidth services. Profit fell due to a one-off gain in the previous year.
India digital infrastructure provider TATA COMMUNICATIONS LTD reported a 9.4% increase in fourth-quarter revenue, driven by robust demand for cloud infrastructure and high-bandwidth cable services. The company's performance was largely bolstered by its data services unit, which remains its primary revenue driver.
Total revenue for the quarter reached 65.54 billion rupees, up from the previous year. The data services segment alone saw an 11.5% rise in revenue, totaling 56.84 billion rupees (approximately $606 million). Despite the top-line growth, net profit for the period ended March 31 fell to 2.63 billion rupees, compared to 10.40 billion rupees in the same quarter last year. This sharp year-over-year decline is attributed to a high base in the previous year, which included a significant one-off gain from the sale of a subsidiary stake.
