The Switzerland government has formally pressed the electorate to reject an initiative aimed at capping the national population at 10 million. Officials warned on Monday that the proposal, backed by the right-wing Swiss People's Party (SVP), would jeopardize cooperation with the European Union and cause significant damage to the domestic economy.
