Sun Life acquires full stakes in BGO and Crescent Capital
Sun Life bought the remaining stakes in BGO and Crescent Capital for C$2.42 billion on Monday. The insurer now holds full ownership of both global companies.
Sun Life Financial Inc. has officially finalized the acquisition of the remaining interests in BGO and Crescent Capital, bringing both investment firms under its full ownership. The Canada-based financial services group confirmed the completion of these transactions on Monday. Under the terms of the deal, Sun Life paid C$1.59 billion, or approximately $1.14 billion, for the 44% stake in BGO it did not previously own. Additionally, the company invested C$829 million to secure the remaining 49% interest in Crescent Capital. These moves represent a significant consolidation of the firm's presence in the alternative asset management space.
