South Korea Revises Q4 GDP Contraction to 0.2 Percent

South Korea revised its fourth quarter GDP contraction to 0.2 percent on Tuesday. The economy grew 1.6 percent annually, slightly better than earlier estimates.

The economy of South Korea contracted at a slightly milder pace in the final quarter of 2025 than previously estimated, according to revised data from the central bank released on Tuesday. Gross domestic product fell by 0.2% in the October-December period on a seasonally adjusted basis, representing an improvement from the 0.3% decline reported in January. This contraction follows a 1.3% increase in the previous quarter and stands as the weakest quarterly performance since the first quarter of 2025.
