South Korea and Brazil agree to boost cooperation in trade and key minerals during Seoul summit

Presidents Lee and Lula signed ten agreements in Seoul today to boost trade and mineral ties. They also pledged to form a new bilateral strategic partnership.

South Korean KRKR President Lee Jae Myung and Brazilian BRBR President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a high-level summit in Seoul on February 23, 2026, marking the first state visit by a Brazilian leader to South Korea in 21 years. During the meeting, the two heads of state signed 10 memorandums of understanding and adopted a comprehensive four-year action plan designed to elevate bilateral relations toward a strategic partnership. The agreements formalize a significant expansion of economic and security cooperation between the Presidency of South Korea (Blue House) and the Brazilian presidency, including collaboration on strategic minerals and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
