Slate Auto secures 650 million dollars for EV production

The Jeff Bezos-backed startup raised 650 million dollars to launch its affordable pickup trucks. Production will begin in Warsaw, Indiana, later this year.

The electric vehicle manufacturer Slate Auto announced on Monday that it has successfully raised $650 million in a Series C funding round. The firm, which is backed by Jeff Bezos, is currently preparing to deliver its first vehicles to customers by the end of this year. By focusing on affordability, the company hopes to attract buyers who are currently managing the pressures of a high cost of living.
