SN and the International Monetary Fund remain at a standstill as fundamental differences persist between the two parties regarding a new lending programme. As of February 24, 2026, these ongoing talks have yet to produce an agreement, delaying critical financing at a time when Senegal's public debt has climbed above 130% of its Gross Domestic Product.
