Savills warns of property slowdown as Iran war weighs
Savills warned of a slowdown in UK and Middle East property deals due to the Iran war. The firm expects transaction delays but maintained its 2026 forecasts.
SAVILLS PLC warned on Wednesday morning that residential property transactions are slowing across its core markets. The firm expects buyers to exercise greater caution as the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran fuels global interest rate uncertainty. This slowdown threatens the recovery of transactional volumes just as the firm integrates its $1.1 billion acquisition of Eastdil Secured.
### Geopolitical Conflict Chills Transactional Volumes The ongoing war has roiled global markets, leading to concerns regarding higher-for-longer interest rates and elevated energy costs. Savills said these factors are tightening household budgets and putting pressure on its transactional business, which provides capital and leasing advisory services. This division remains the largest contributor to the firm's total revenue.
