Saronic Technologies valuation doubles to $9.25 billion
Saronic Technologies raised $1.75 billion to expand drone ship production for the U.S. Navy. The funding brings the startup valuation to $9.25 billion today.
Saronic Technologies has closed a $1.75 billion funding round, more than doubling the valuation of the autonomous shipbuilding startup to $9.25 billion. This significant increase from its $4 billion valuation in February 2025 comes amid a surge in investor interest for defense technology companies in the United States. The sector is experiencing rapid growth as the administration of President Donald Trump moves to prioritize funding for sophisticated, low-cost technology that can be delivered to warfighters faster than products from traditional contractors.
The new valuation for Saronic Technologies highlights the shifting landscape of the defense industry. By comparison, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., the largest military shipbuilder in the country, is currently valued at approximately $15 billion. Other major players in the space are also seeing massive growth; for instance, the drone and software manufacturer Anduril Industries is reportedly aiming to double its valuation to $60 billion in its latest funding round.
