Russian Oil Tanker Arrives in Cuba After Two Month Gap
A Russian tanker with 650,000 barrels of crude entered Cuba's economic zone Sunday. This is the first oil import for the nation in more than two months.
A Russia-flagged tanker carrying crude oil has entered the exclusive economic zone of Cuba, according to recent ship tracking data. This arrival could signal the first oil import for the Caribbean nation in more than two months, providing a potential boost to local energy supplies. The vessel, named the Anatoly Kolodkin, departed from Primorsk in Russia after loading approximately 650,000 barrels of Urals crude. While global energy markets often focus on the price of Brent Crude Oil, this specific delivery is a significant logistical development for the region. Tracking services provided by Marine Traffic and LSEG indicate that the tanker is currently on a course toward the Matanzas port. If the vessel maintains its current heading, it is expected to begin discharging its cargo shortly. The shipment represents a vital link for Cuba, which has seen a lull in energy imports recently.
