A Russia court ordered billionaire Vadim Moshkovich to transfer a 65% controlling stake in Rusagro to the state on Tuesday. The ruling follows Moshkovich's March 2025 arrest on charges of embezzling 30 billion roubles ($400 million). This seizure effectively nationalizes the only major listed agriculture firm in the country.
### State Seizure of Agricultural Giant The court ruling targets shares held by Moshkovich, his wife, other relatives, and former CEO Maxim Basov. Together, these holdings represent a 65% share in the company, which is a leading producer of sugar, pork, and oil products. Interfax reported the decision during the afternoon on May 5.
