Russia launched nuclear-capable missiles and issued munitions to units on Thursday during exercises involving 64,000 personnel. The drills represent some of the largest nuclear maneuvers in years following escalated tensions with NATO. President Vladimir Putin described the triad as a guarantor of sovereignty while calling the use of such weapons an extreme last resort.
