Putin Says Trump Peace Ideas Could End Ukraine War

Speaking at an economic forum, Putin reaffirmed his readiness for a diplomatic solution based on previous discussions.
President Vladimir Putin stated Russia is open to peace proposals from the United States if Ukraine agrees to territorial compromises. The Kremlin leader asserted that Russian forces now control 100% of Luhansk and 85% of the Donetsk region. This demand for territorial concessions remains the primary barrier to a diplomatic resolution in the fifth year of Europe's deadliest land conflict since World War Two.
Vladimir Putin spoke to foreign media editors on June 4 during an annual economic forum. Vladimir Putin stated that manpower and industrial resources favor Moscow as troops push further into eastern territory. The Kremlin leader pointed to a previous summit in Alaska as a framework for ending the conflict.
