Putin orders FSB to protect energy sector and warns foes against pushing Moscow too far

Putin ordered the FSB to boost security for energy and transport sites today. He warned that foes will regret pushing Moscow too far with sabotage acts.

President Vladimir Putin has ordered the FSB to step up protection of the energy and transport infrastructure and public gathering places of Russia RURU. Issued on February 24, 2026, the fourth anniversary of the war, the directive represents a state-level security order aimed at altering the protection posture of critical facilities across the country.
