The telecom operator PROXIMUS has reported a 15.5% increase in its annual core profit, exceeding market forecasts due to strong results in its home market of Belgium. The company announced that its reported group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached 2.3 billion euros ($2.7 billion), which was higher than the 2.1 billion euro average estimate provided by analysts in a company-compiled consensus. Looking forward, Proximus expects its core domestic operations to remain stable through 2026, while its international unit is forecasted to produce an operating profit ranging from 100 million to 130 million euros. The operator intends to invest up to 1.25 billion euros in infrastructure and plans to increase its annual dividends from 0.30 euro per share to 0.50 euro per share by 2028. These financial targets are part of a broader strategy to maintain controlled debt levels while rewarding shareholders.
