Polestar Revenue Jumps 54 Percent as Losses Narrow
Polestar reported a 54 percent revenue jump to 887 million dollars as losses narrowed. The firm is focusing on Europe to counter global economic uncertainty.
The electric vehicle manufacturer based in Sweden has reported a significant increase in its fourth-quarter revenue alongside a narrowing net loss. POLESTAR AUTOMOTIVE-CL A ADS saw its revenue climb 54% to $887 million for the period ending December 31, driven by increased production and a strategic pivot toward the European market. The company's net loss for the quarter was reduced to $799 million, a notable improvement from the $1.18 billion loss recorded during the same timeframe in the previous year.

Polestar has increasingly prioritized its operations within Europe, where consumer demand for its battery-electric lineup remains robust. This shift comes as performance in other major markets, such as the United States, has remained sluggish. The company cited global economic uncertainty, influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and trade complexities arising from tariff policies, as factors impacting its international growth trajectory.
The company expects market conditions to become more challenging amid ongoing geopolitical developments.
To navigate these headwinds, the automaker has implemented aggressive cost-reduction measures. These initiatives include optimizing manufacturing processes, restructuring supply chains, and significantly reducing its workforce. By the end of 2025, the company’s headcount stood at 1,686 employees, down from 2,547 a year earlier. These efforts contributed to an adjusted gross margin of 1.9% for the fourth quarter, rebounding from a negative 39% in 2024.
As of the close of 2025, the manufacturer maintained a cash position of approximately $1.16 billion. While the company did not provide specific financial guidance for the coming year, it anticipates retail sales volume to grow at a low-double-digit rate. Investors are looking forward to the release of the first-quarter financial results, which are scheduled for publication on May 7.
