Philippines SEC adopts tiered IPO public float rules

The Philippines SEC launched a tiered public float system for IPOs to increase flexibility. Requirements now range from 12 to 33 percent based on company size.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines[Country:{"assets":{"country":"PH"}}] has introduced a new tiered system for public float requirements to enhance flexibility for initial public offerings (IPOs). According to a circular released in Singapore[Country:{"assets":{"country":"SG"}}], the new rules adjust the minimum portion of shares that must be held by the public based on a company's market valuation at the time of listing.
