Peugeot to Build New Cars in China With Dongfeng Tech
Peugeot will manufacture a new line of sedans and SUVs at Dongfeng's Wuhan plant starting in 2027. The vehicles will serve both Chinese and international markets.
Stellantis has announced a strategic shift for its Peugeot brand, confirming plans to manufacture vehicles in China utilizing technology from its long-term partner, DONGFENG MOTOR GRP CO LTD-H. This initiative targets both the domestic Chinese market and international export opportunities.
The announcement coincided with Peugeot's return to the Beijing International Auto Show, where the automaker unveiled two new concept cars. This move signals a revitalized industrial effort by the France-Italy automotive group to strengthen its position in the world's largest car market following a period of restructuring and sluggish sales performance.
