Oscar Lovera appointed as Paraguay new economy minister
President Santiago Pena named Oscar Lovera to lead the economy ministry following the resignation of Carlos Fernandez. The move aims to boost state efficiency.
Paraguay President Santiago Pena has appointed Oscar Lovera as the nation's new Minister of Economy and Finance, according to a government statement released on Wednesday. Lovera, the former head of the vice ministry of financial administration, succeeds Carlos Fernandez, who resigned last week at the request of the president. The leadership change is described by the president's office as part of a new stage aimed at consolidating economic growth and improving the efficiency of the state.
Under the leadership of Fernandez, the economy maintained a steady growth path with inflation remaining under control. This period of stability was marked by the country achieving investment-grade ratings from major agencies, including MOODY'S CORP and S&P GLOBAL INC.
